Your Siena and Montalcino wine tour from Florence begins in the morning with a meeting with your private driver in the lobby of your hotel.
In Siena with your expert private guide, appreciate the historic center recognized by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.
The central point and main attraction of Siena is Piazza del Campo built in the early 1300s, it is the main public space in the historic center of Siena and is where the Palio race takes place on July 2 and August 16 of each year.
In Piazza del Campo takes place the Palazzo Pubblico with the frescoes by Lorenzetti, and the Torre del Mangia, as well as the Fonte Gaia, the terminus of the system of pipes that carry water to the center of the city.
Interesting to visit is the Church of San Domenico also known as the Basilica Cateriniana near the Fonte Branda which in the Middle Ages was one of the main water sources in the city.
The magnificent Duomo of Siena, built in Tuscan Gothic style, very interesting is the inlaid marble mosaic floor and opposite the facade of the Cathedral stands the Hospital of Santa Maria della Scala, one of the oldest hospitals in Europe, now a museum.
From Siena you reach Montalcino through the unique landscape of the Val d'Orcia, in the medieval village of Montalcino, dominated by the 14th century Medici Fortress, you have free time to stroll at your own pace visiting the traditional shops and enjoy the view.
