Leonardo's Vineyard
Just few steps from Santa Maria delle Grazie in the House of Atellani family, the vineyard that was donated by Ludovico il Moro, duke of Milan, in the period he was painting the Last supper.
Today the vineyard has been recreated replanting the original grape variety of Malvasia wines.
Pinacoteca Ambrosiana
In the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana Art Gallery that was founded by Cardinal Federigo Borromeo in 1618, you will find one of the most important traces of the presence of Leonardo in Milan.
The Ambrosiana contains precious paintings of important artists, such as Tiziano and Raffaello as well as the great legacy of Leonardo: The Leonardo Atlanticus Codex that is the largest collection in the world of drawings and writings by Leonardo da Vinci.
Sforza Castle
One of the most famous monuments in Milan, the Castello Sforzesco is a medieval fortress built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan. Learn by your expert guide about its fascinating history, the destruction it has suffered and its reconstructions, from the Middle Ages to the present day, which houses museums displaying countless works of art by the likes of Tiepolo, Michelangelo, Tintoretto and Leonardo da Vinci.
On the ground floor there is a large room (Sala delle Asse) - actually closed - decorated with vegetal motifs across the ceiling and around the central coat of arms of Ludovico Sforza. It is a room with walls and ceiling painted by Leonardo when Ludovico Sforza asked him (1498) to decorate this room representing the important setting where Sforza family welcomed their guests and ambassadors.
