Visit Boboli Gardens at Palazzo Pitti, designed in 1549 for Medici family, represent a marvelous example of recognizable of Renaissance Italian style garden that has influenced many European gardens.
During the Renaissance time the Medici family who lived in Palazzo Pitti created, behind the building, a large park and gardens, today known as the Boboli Gardens.
The gardens covers about 45.0000 smq and are connected, from a side with Vasarian Corridor, running between the Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti and, on the other, to the Forte del Belvedere, a fortress built to protect the Medici family.
Many architects contributed to the project, Niccolò Tribolo the first designer, then others as Ammannati and Buontalenti.
The Boboli Gardens for its architecture, landscape and sculptural ornaments that contains is considered an open-air museum, further is adorned with grottos and large fountains, the most important grotto is the famous grotto realized by Buontalenti, spectacular are the fountains as the Fountain of Neptune and the Fountain of the Ocean.
Boboli Gardens became Unesco World Heritage Site in 2013
