Your Private Tour to Villa d’Este and Hadrian’s Villa in Tivoli starts from your hotel in Rome centre where meet your private driver.
In Tivoli your own private expert guide will give a full explanation visiting these two wonderful villas.
Villa d’Este with precious frescoes and stunning gardens and fountains. Villa Adriana (Hadrian's Villa) the residence constructed for the Roman emperor Hadrian.
The Villa d’Este is considered the masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance Gardens and the Unesco included it in the World Heritage List to recognize the importance of this gardens in the history.
A visit with your private guide gives you the opportunity to admire the frescoed rooms of the villa and the magnificent gardens that have had a profound influence on the development of garden design throughout Europe.
Villa d'Este, was commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito II d’Este and with its impressive concentration of fountains, nympheums, grottoes, plays of water, it constitutes a precious example of an Italian 16th-century garden.
The gardens of Villa d Este were a much-copied model for European gardens in the mannerist and baroque styles. Very interesting the Avenue of One Hundred Fountains and the Fountain on the Water Organ.
Villa Adriana, Hadrian's Villa was a complex of over 30 buildings, covering an area of at least 1 square kilometer (c. 250 acres) of which much is still unexcavated. The villa was the greatest Roman example of an Alexandrian garden, recreating a sacred landscape.
The complex included palaces, several thermae, theatre, temples, libraries, state rooms and quarters for courtiers, praetorians and slaves. The Villa shows echoes of many different architectural orders, mostly Greek and Egyptian.
