Your 3-hour private guided tour of the Accademia Gallery with skip-the-line tickets starts from your hotel in the historic center of Florence where you will meet your personal guide.
The Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence is very well known and famous as it houses the sculptures of Michelangelo: the original statue of David transferred here from Piazza della Signoria in 1873, the unfinished San Matteo and the unfinished statue of the Carceri.
The Grand Duke of Tuscany Pietro Leopoldo founded the Academy, today an important museum of Florence, in 1784 as a school for teaching art.
At the Accademia Gallery, in addition to the works of Michelangelo, there is a vast collection of religious paintings by the major artists working in Florence and its surroundings between the mid-thirteenth and the end of the sixteenth century, particularly important for his paintings with a gold background.
Recently the Gallery has been further enriched by the important collection of ancient musical instruments of the Cherubini Conservatory.
Your private guided walking tour also includes a tour from outside of the centuries-old center of the religious life of Florence with the best examples of Renaissance architecture:
Brunelleschi's Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery with the famous bronze doors depicting scenes from the Old and New Testament called "The Gates of Paradise".
