Enjoy the best vantage points on a panoramic driving tour of Rome with your personal driver to take in the beauty of Rome from the Pincio Terrace, Aventine hill, Vittoriano, and Gianicolo hill.

Rome panoramic tour includes numerous pauses to enjoy the best vistas in the area while traveling in the comfort of your own chauffeured vehicle.

In order to start your three-hour private Rome panoramic tour of the city's most stunning attractions in the comfort of your own chauffeured vehicle, your private driver will meet you at your hotel in Rome.

You may enjoy stunning views of the ancient town from Gianicolo Hill, on the right side of the Tiber, at the overlook close to the statue of Garibaldi.

One of Rome's tallest hills is Gianicolo or Janiculum Hill, however it is not one of the seven ancient hills. Gianicolo hill is located West of Rome's ancient center is the area of Trastevere.

A stunning panorama of Rome may be seen from the top. The hero who unified modern Italy, the statue of Garibaldi on horseback, dominates the spacious terrace.

At noon, according to a tradition that dates back to 1847 when Pope Pius IX wanted to set a standard time for all the bells of the churches of Rome, a cannon shot is heard.

One of the seven hills in ancient Rome is the Aventine hill.
The remnants of the Savelli family's ancient fortification, which included the Savello Park (also known as Giardino degli Aranci), a small rectangular garden, are located at the summit of the Aventine, inside the medieval walls.

From here, visitors can take in a stunning view of Rome that includes the Tiber River's loop and St. Peter's Basilica.

The keyhole of the gate of the Priory of the Knights of Malta, at the top of the Aventine hill, just after the Orangery, offers a splendid hidden view directly on St. Peter's Basilica.

On top of the Vittoriano complex, at the Terrazza delle Quadrighe, is where you can take in the breathtaking scenery.
People can ascend to the complex's highest point, from which they can enjoy a 360-degree view of Rome, using two panoramic elevators that were introduced in 2007.

The view spans the splendor of the Colosseum and Fori Imperiali to the churches in the ancient town, the Tiber River to the Jewish Ghetto, Piazza del Campidoglio on the Capitoline Hill to the Quirinale, and the contemporary EUR sector to the distinctive Castelli Romani.

F.A.Q.

  • What is the story behind the Aventine Keyhole?

The Aventine Keyhole, also known as the "Keyhole of Rome," is a unique and intriguing sight located in Rome, Italy. It is found within the gate of the Priory of the Knights of Malta, on the Aventine Hill.

The keyhole provides a breathtaking and picturesque view of St. Peter's Basilica, perfectly framed by the hedges and the doorway of the priory. Visitors peer through the keyhole and are treated to a stunning sight of the basilica's dome perfectly aligned at the end of a narrow pathway bordered by greenery.

The story behind the Aventine Keyhole is rooted in the history of the Knights of Malta, a religious and military order that has occupied the Aventine Hill since the Middle Ages. The Knights of Malta have a long-standing tradition of welcoming visitors to the priory and allowing them to view the magnificent panorama of St. Peter's Basilica through the keyhole.

While the exact origin of the keyhole's design and its intentional alignment with St. Peter's Basilica is unclear, it is believed to have been designed during the Renaissance period, possibly by the architect Giovanni Battista Piranesi in the 18th century.
Regardless of its origins, the Aventine Keyhole has become a popular and enchanting attraction for visitors to Rome, offering a unique perspective of one of the city's most iconic landmarks.
